The cool part about this link-building case study was that this SaaS had a substantially high DR but it needed links to the specific pages in order to get them to rank higher on Google.
This is when we stepped in with our SaaS content marketing approach and used our strategy for SaaS link building.
- Links built: 120+
- Traffic increase: 47,300 from 939 p.m.
- Traffic value increase: $76,300 from $2,096 p.m.
- DR increase: 61 from 53
- Campaign span: 12 months (ongoing)
This cloud cost intelligence approached us in May, 2021, looking to get the traffic they deserved!
Even though working in this niche is an ongoing challenge we managed to help bring in very significant positive changes.
- Already great content – this SaaS’s internal team has been producing brilliant articles in the field
- No previous active link building
We specialize in building links with the following characteristics:
- 1000+ Monthly Traffic
- Link from relevant page (i.e. the source page contains the keywords the target URL is trying to rank for)
Hence we started off with our standard package of 10 backlinks per month…which grew into well over 120 backlinks to date!
We secured the first link one the 1st of June, 2021.
As I’m writing this in late April, the campaign is still ongoing but we are already seeing a solid result.
Let’s go over the key stats with some real proof!
Total Links Built
When it comes to link building these days, quality beats quantity.
Every single month we go through a large number of outreach opportunities only taking the ones that really are of high quality.
Over the course of the previous 10 months, we built more than 120 backlinks to a number of high-value pages and this is what the report for this SaaS looks like:
When we started our first campaign, the monthly traffic was under 1000 unique monthly visitors (via Ahrefs).
Our work helped to bump it up to nearly 50,000 unique monthly visitors!
Here’s what the growth looks like – pretty spectacular!
Monthly Traffic Value
Traffic value indicates the number of dollars you’d need to spend each month in order to bring the given level of traffic.
In other words, that’s how much you’d pay to get the same level of traffic if you weren’t ranking for anything.
When we started with this SaaS, their traffic value was at $2,096.
As of now, it’s at almost $75,500.
Domain Rating (DR)
DR is a logarithmic metric created by Ahrefs – it’s much harder to get it from 50 to 60 than from 20 to 30.
We never seek to artificially inflate DR with fake backlinks (you can check out Fiverr for that) but rather naturally increase it with consistent quality link building.
During our campaign, DR went up from 53 to 61.
